Seven days and counting until the 29^th SF Ballet Auxiliary Fashion Show! As the chair of this event, I’m very excited and grateful to our committee members who have been working with the Ballet and Saks Fifth Avenue to make this great event a reality. The volunteer committee is made up of busy women juggling full-time jobs and/or the demands of family, but they have always cheerfully participated in numerous meetings, conference calls, walk-throughs, and brainstorming sessions. In addition, they’ve reached out to colleagues and friends for auction and raffle items, and distributed thousands of invitations and other promotional materials, to make sure this event is the most exciting and successful that it can be. Women working together with purpose and resolve month after month, make an unstoppable force!

Of course, our job has been made easier by Saks, who secured the amazing celebrity designer, Michael Kors. The Fashion Show this year will feature Mr. Kors’ critically acclaimed fall 2010 collection. To add to the excitement, our auction committee has created multiple, once-in-a-lifetime “experience packages,” including tickets for two to the taping of the Season 8 finale of Project Runway, tickets for two to the Emmy Awards in Los Angeles, and tickets for two to see Mr. Kors’ spring 2011 collection on the runway, during New York Fashion Week. Amidst all the fun, hard work, and swirl of activity, the committee is most proud that the proceeds from the Fashion Show will support SF Ballet, including its world-class performances, world-class school, and community outreach programs.
