Zac Posen for SF Ballet

The most exciting thing about being an event chair is seeing all the pieces come together. We only have a few days to go until this year’s Fashion Show, and I am filled with excitement and anticipation.  The Zac Posen runway show is going to be just  thrilling!  Saks is bringing the actual Zac Posen NY Fashion Week runway show production to us.  It will be just like seeing it in NYC, except that we will get to experience it in luxury of the Fairmont ballroom.

Chairing this year’s Fashion Show is sort of like throwing an event on steroids.  It is critical that it be a huge fundraising success for San Francisco Ballet. It’s a challenge every day when I get up to see how much I can get accomplished.  In fact, it is not too different from my day-to-day marketing job.  It’s a lot of projects that are all part of one big project.  There are just so many moving parts- the event logistics, the invitations, the volunteers, the auction, the raffle,  the signature drink, the menu, and the décor. To be honest, some of the details do keep me up at night, but being the chair does have its perks.  I get to meet Zac.  He is as dreamy as his designs!

We tried something new this year, and included our décor chair in the menu tasting to ensure that the presentation of the dishes would fit in with the overall event décor and runway show stage set.  Although the luncheon menu is always a big secret until the date of the event, I will give you a peek under the tent:  Expect a gorgeous spring menu!

Hope to see you there.
