It’s been a busy couple of months for me-make that a busy year, so far. In addition to rehearsing and preparing for all the season, I’m organizing a small group to perform in Australia this summer. I’m also studying for my kinesiology class, as part of the LEAP Program at St. Mary’s College, and I’m working on a performance project with Muriel Maffre.
The good thing about being so busy is that I’m very excited about all of these projects. I have only five more weeks of school and three more programs of the season. The project with Muriel is a stimulating -we will be performing the last weekend of May and the first two weekends of June at the new Marina Abramovic Institute on Sutter Street.
The concept is a gallery installation: we will be performing the process of creating a ballet. As we work with a choreographer and musician, the audience can watch the interactions that a project like this creates. Please come see us! I’m also gearing up for Program 6 and 7 of the season and I’m excited for Katita Waldo as she gets closer to her last performances, but of course, I’m also sad that this brings our dancing together to a close. We’ve performed together for so long; I’m really going to miss her as a partner!

Hello Damian,
This sounds like an exciting time for you and it is always a pleasure watching you perform. I am a costume designer with a specialty in ballet and was wondering if I may assist you in any way for the project with Muriel? I am currently working on costumes for Lines Ballet. Merde for the remaining season!
Hi Damian!
I’d so love to see your performance with Muriel, but cannot find any info on date/time/etc. beyond what you mention above. Any chance you could post, here (or create an event listing on Facebook or Plancast.com)?
Danke Shoen! :) nina
Thanks for your interest! I don’t have all the details yet, but as soon as I do, I will post them here and/or on Facebook. Thanks for your interest!
