The first week of Nutcracker performances are completed, but there are still plenty of opportunities to see the Company perform this holiday favorite! Over the last few weeks, San Francisco Ballet has been out in the community to spread the word about the production. Below are a few highlights from recent Nutcracker activities.
- Costumed San Francisco Ballet School students visited the Daly City and Sloat Blvd Lucky Supermarket locations much to the delight of week-night shoppers. Lucky Supermarkets is the official sponsor of Nutcracker Family Performances and donates juice, cookies, and gifts for these six performances.
- Continuing a very special SF Ballet tradition, several dancers from the Company went to California Pacific Medical Center and UCSF to perform for – and visit with – children currently in pediatric units over the holidays. Click here to watch the ABC7 news story about the visits.
- On November 20th, several San Francisco Ballet School students appeared in Nutcracker costumes for the Embarcadero Center Tree Lighting Ceremony.
- Soloists Pauli Magierek and Garen Price Scribner shared some of their favorite training exercises with ABC7′s “The View from the Bay” hosts Spencer Christian and Janelle Wang. Click here to watch the segment.
