  • Last week SFB announced that the Company will tour to China in fall 2009, including appearances in Shanghai, Suzhou and Beijing. Click here to read more from San Francisco Chronicle.
  • Exciting news from San Francisco Ballet School! It has been announced that following her retirement from the Company this past May, former Principal Dancer Tina LeBlanc will join the faculty of the School, teaching beginning, intermediate, and advanced level students during the 2009-10 school year. LeBlanc will also serve as an instructor during the upcoming Summer Session, which runs June 22–July 24.
  • On June 12, Principal Dancers Sarah Van Patten and Damian Smith will perform the pas de deux from Christopher Wheeldon’s After the Rain as part of a one-night-only benefit performance to raise critical funds for Oregon Ballet Theatre. The evening will feature a variety of works performed by companies including New York City Ballet, Boston Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, and The Joffrey Ballet, among others.
