Last night, a few dancers and SFB staff members attended the 23rd Annual Isadora Duncan Dance Awards at the Brava Theater in San Francisco’s Mission district. The “Izzies” were created by the Bay Area Dance Coalition in 1984 to celebrate the unique richness, diversity, and excellence of Bay Area Dance.
Maria Kochetkova won the Izzie (in a tie) for Outstanding Achievement in Performance by an Individual, for her performance in Tomasson’s Giselle last March, and the Company received a special award for the New Works Festival, presented by Choreographer Margaret Jenkins and accepted by Tina LeBlanc. Congratulations to all!
